demands for full year tuition in advance

Postby magicman7 on Tue Sep 30, 2008 12:44 am

My daughters school demanded a full year tuition before my daughter started school this year. She missed the first couple days of school due to this. Does anyone know whether or not the school has the right to do this and if not, do you know where I can find out.

Full Year Tuition

Hi,

Short answer - Generally NO. But you may have an odd case. ie. poor credit rating, although I have never heard of anyone having their credit checked!

This concerns me as this makes education unaffordable, especially if it is the start of a trend. I take it you are referring to a Tasmanian Catholic School?

Please feel free to ask another question. What regional are you in?

Cheers,

Damian
